Been thinking about volunteering? It’s a hugely rewarding and a great way to use your time and skills to make a real difference. Why not make 2024 the year you volunteer.
Giving your time makes everything possible
There isn’t one part of what we do which hasn’t been made possible by the help of our volunteers. Whatever your skills, background or availability, we’re sure we have a volunteering role that’s just right for you.
If your company offers staff volunteer days, we would love to have you join us for a few hours, a day, or more. We have opportunities for teams and individuals. Please get in touch and help us to make a real difference for children.
Our events calendar is jam packed with a variety of different activities which need support to make them magic. Special events from comedy to carols, cheering loudly, bucket collecting, to marshalling and meeting and greeting, you can be part of the action.
We often also plan special treats for the families we support, treats which we like to deliver to doorsteps to help brighten days of children who are having to stay home. So, if you fancy being a delivery driver with a difference, this is just the ticket.
We are currently recruiting, a job description is here. If you are interested in applying please fill out the form here.
We’re a small and friendly team who work closely together. From marketing to fundraising, family support to HR, we could always do with an extra pair of hands to help get things done.
Our boat, Moments on the River, is a firm favourite with our families, and it’s our volunteers who make it all happen. You could help with cleaning and preparation or even train up as a Skipper or Deck Hand.
What’s good for us, is good for you
Aside from the warm and fuzzies that giving your time to help others brings, there are lots of ways that volunteering with us can be enriching:
Developing new skills There’s a lot to be said to being able to have a go at doing different things, without long term commitment, and in hours that suit you.
Being a valued part of our team, as well as getting to know your local community better, and making new friends along the way.
Gaining practical work experience If you’re interested in working in the charity sector, volunteering can help you land your first job or a place at university.
