The First Give initiative inspires schools to compete in groups to raise awareness and money for local charities. Pupils are challenged to host creative fundraising events and to make an impact within the school community.

Pupils were also tasked with delivering a presentation in front of a panel judges for the competition which included the Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Richard Williams, a representative from First Give, and staff and students from the school.

The toughly fought out final saw competition from other classes representing charities including the Rainbow Trust, CHEER, Rentstart and Down’s South London, but it was the Year 9 class representing Momentum who shone through to take the winning prize!

The Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Richard Williams, presented Momentum’s Maria Stoney with a giant cheque for £1,000.

On top of this, the magnificent Claremont Fan Court School in Esher have just donated £12,066.62 to Momentum through their Claremont 100 fundraising initiative, celebrating the school’s Centenary year.

Thank you to everyone at Claremont Fan Court School, your support is making a huge difference to families in Surrey, Sussex and London.
