Crafty Pots extend support & open doors for Echoes event
- Bereavement support
Nat Leyland, who owns Crafty Pots, arranged a lovely private space for our families. She advised them on how to get started, and the rest of the evening was spent painting, talking, sharing memories and offering support to each other.
The families who attended were joined by Vanessa and Charlotte from the Echoes team, and judging from the end results, there were some very talented painters amongst the group! There were painted plates with beautiful flowers, intricately decorated fruits, and a gorgeous underwater scene. One mum painted a spoon holder with the letter ‘A’ in memory of her son, something she will put in her new kitchen.
A mum who attended the evening said: “The pottery painting evening gave my daughter and I a space of calm, when everyday life often feels difficult. It was a much-needed opportunity to sit together, concentrating on producing something with love and joy, together with others who understood us. We are so grateful to Momentum and Crafty Pots for giving us this time, as well as items to cherish.”
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Crafty Pots Café who have decided to continue supporting Momentum! The café which offers pottery painting sessions to children and adults initially selected us as their Charity of the Month for October, but after learning more about how we help local families, wanted to continue the partnership.
So far, the partnership with Crafty Pots has raised an impressive £160. Customers are encouraged to make a donation to Momentum via the Crafty Pots website, or by scanning the QR code when visiting the café. As well as this, customers can paint one of Crafty Pots’ little ceramic hanging hearts in return for a £10 donation to Momentum.
