Our bright green riverboat was transformed into a ghoulishly glorious Halloween spectacular with cobwebs, bats, skeletons, and spiders – it looked frightfully good!

Once onboard, children were invited to take part in Mo’s Halloween trail, where they had the opportunity to try and find Florence the fluffy spider and Sebastian the friendly snake. There was an array of creepy crafts for families to enjoy including painting a pumpkin pebble and pinning the smile on the skeleton!

A couple of families braved Shepperton Marina overnight, getting cosy with Halloween-themed family films, tasty popcorn and warm hot chocolate complete with marshmallows.

Some families cooked up tasty feasts onboard, while others embraced the autumnal weather by using the BBQ facilities nearby.

One family who enjoyed a trip on the boat said: “It was absolutely amazing, and the crew was fantastic! Our daughter had the best time, and it was great to see her enjoying herself. Days like this really make a difference to the children. Thank you!”

Another family added: “The crew were all amazing and so kind to the kids. It was such an amazing afternoon & a lovely break from the stress of treatment in a safe oncology friendly environment. Especially with money constraints, we could never have afforded to do something like this at the moment so thank you so much. It gave us a well needed break & was so relaxing too.”

A wonderful team of volunteers from one of our corporate partners, Valero, did an excellent job of decorating our riverboat – a huge thank you to them for all their efforts in making it look truly spooktacular!

It goes without saying, our boat trips simply wouldn’t be able to happen without our brilliant crew of volunteers. Not only are they warm and welcoming to our families, but they also have a great knowledge of our boat and the river Thames too. Thank you to each and every one of them.
