Festive fun at Winter Wonderland
- Family trips and experiences
Winter Wishes is a special day, which makes Winter Wonderland accessible to families with financial constraints and those with physical and sensory sensitivities. Enhanced measures are put in place to make sure the event is safe for everyone, including reduced lighting and sound levels, low-sensory skating on the Ice Rink, and audio guides in the Magical Ice Kingdom.
Winter Wonderland has been operating for an incredible 20 years, and the attraction has become an annual festive favourite for thousands of people. With more than 100 rides, a Christmas market, an ice slide and an ice circus, there is something for everyone!
Many of the families we support aren’t able to enjoy many of the fun traditions that are often taken for granted. This special event at the end of November operated at a reduced capacity and included a free performance of Zippos Christmas Circus, a meet and greet with Father Christmas, and surprise entertainment throughout the day.
One of the families that attended said: “We had a lovely Christmas family day which we wouldn’t have otherwise had due to poor mental health and money.”
Another family added what it meant to them: “Just being able to relax, have ‘normality’ and to see our boys smile!”
Reflecting on the day out, a parent commented: “It was such a beautiful day of creating special memories together in a safe environment.”
We can’t thank the team at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland enough for their generosity – it meant so much to be able to offer our families these wonderful experiences.
