Over 12 months the Leatherhead-based shopping centre organised numerous fundraising events which collectively raised more than £1,500.  As well as raising vital funds, the events gave us the opportunity to tell local people how we support families in their community.

As part of the partnership, The Swan Centre donated a shop front for us to use. The space was decorated with a fun selfie scene, encouraging shoppers to ‘make a face, in this place’, take a photo, and post it on their socials, tagging Momentum to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

The partnership kicked off with an Easter in Wonderland themed event, and in the summer The Swan Centre organised two events with sporting activities to coincide with the Olympics. The biggest night of the year was the Halloween themed fundraiser which included games, live music, and a best dressed competition. Momentum was there with the infamous ‘throw a Mo’ bag toss game. We teamed up with The Swan Centre for their Christmas shopping events where we had successful toy sales and a ‘lucky dip’ stall.

From kindly giving us a space in one of their empty shops, through to organising countless creative fundraising events, it has been a year we certainly won’t forget!”

Every penny raised through the charity of the year partnership with The Swan Centre will help us to be there for local families with very unwell children.
