Departing from Shepperton Marina, each family enjoyed a two-hour cruise up and down the River Thames. Families tucked into a well-deserved delicious cream tea as part of the experience. The weather was in favour with the sun shining for most of the weekend!

As well as enjoying the breathtaking scenery, children were able to have a go at driving the boat and learn about some of the skills involved in being a crew member, including those all-important knots!

Our boat trips are a chance for families to spend some much-needed quality time together, to relax and make memories, while surrounded by the peace and tranquillity of the river.

One family said: “Thank you so much for our wonderful Mother’s Day out on the river. We had such a fantastic time, made even more lovely by the homemade scones and cream tea that the crew made for us – such a treat! The skipper gave my daughter a great lesson in driving the boat which she loved. My son’s favourite part was spotting the wildlife including a red kite and a heron, and some huge carp in the marina. He also loved checking out the beautiful houses on the river’s edge and impressing us by telling us all the nationalities of the flags they have displayed. It was so peaceful and a lovely time together. We really appreciate being allowed to enjoy it, thank you again.”

Another family added: “We wanted to sincerely thank you again for the amazing boat ride you arranged for us. The crew were great and the scones tasted marvellous on this sunny day.”

Our boat trips are available for all families supported by Momentum, and they take place throughout Spring, Summer, and some of Autumn. Find out more here
