Talking about why he is running the London Marathon for us, Cameron said: “I recently finished my role as a Family Support Worker for Momentum so I have seen how a diagnosis of childhood cancer or a life-limiting illness can affect families. In my role I worked across three local hospitals where I was able to spend valuable time with families. It was a privilege to be able to meet and help so many children and their parents whose lives had been turned upside down and I had the pleasure of sharing many lovely moments with them, but also many tears. I am running the marathon for every child and family that I met on their journey.

Cameron continued: “I have 26 families that are really close to my heart, so I am keeping them in the forefront of my mind and running a mile for each of them. I am aiming for a finish time of around four hours, and I am really looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere on the day.”

After powering through a gruelling 16-week training plan and clocking up hundreds of miles, Cameron is primed and ready for the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event. Cameron is well on his way to reaching his £2,500 fundraising target and every penny of his sponsorship will help us support families across Surrey, Sussex, and London who are facing the unimaginable.
