Santa braves storm to visit to Momentum families
- Family trips and experiences
Visiting Santa at his grotto is not possible for many of the families we support, due to a number of different reasons. However, Santa was not going to let anything get in the way of meeting our wonderful families to find out what they wanted for Christmas, and he made it his mission to bring some Christmas cheer to their homes.
Santa didn’t use a traditional sleigh to visit our families – he arrived in style in a Triumph Stag sports car, even driving with the roof down for most of the day – nothing was going to stop him, even gale-force winds! Later, Santa picked up speed and swapped onto a Harley Davidson motorbike! One of the elves, joined Santa on his rounds riding a Ducati which glowed with Christmas lights and tinsel!
Gifts were for the whole family to enjoy together as well as individual presents for each child. Presents children received included Lego, Playmobil, dressing up outfits, and gift vouchers. Each family was also given unique gifts from Momentum, but we won’t spoil the surprise for families that Santa is visiting this weekend!
78 children across Surrey and London received a doorstep visit from Santa and his lovely elves last weekend, supported by a dedicated team of wonderful Momentum volunteers. This weekend, Santa will jump onboard his sleigh (or another one of his many methods of transport!) as he visits another 26 children in Sussex and Surrey, delivering gifts and hopefully making everyone feel festive.
Little Theo and his family, from London, received a visit from Santa at the weekend. His mum said: “Wow – thank you so much for the visit it was amazing, and we really didn’t expect a gift sack from Santa with that many surprises in. Thank you so much for this amazing charity and all you have done for Theo so far.”
Another family from Surrey added: “Who’s the luckiest boy ever? BERTIE! Santa and the elves came in for a mulled wine and a minced pie. Bertie is so excited! (He’s asked me to send the photos to his friends so they can see Santa visited him early!!).”
Adding what it meant to her children, another mum said: “Thank you so much for our Santa visit this evening! Harry and Amy haven’t stopped talking about it since they left and went to bed super excited. Thank you for all the lovely presents too. Such a wonderful experience!”
A big thank you to our very generous corporate supporters – Air Charter Service John Lewis Kingston, Lemongrass Cloud and Double Tree Kingston who along with supporters, James Whurr, Benji Arler, and the Carpenter and Handouka families, helped Santa make this possible.
