The meal was a chance to talk to other dads who have been through similar experiences, share memories of their children, as well as offering support and advice when needed.

One dad who attended the meal said: “I had a lovely time and felt very welcomed by everyone. Thank you again for the opportunity – and more generally for the great work you and the team do.”

Our Echoes team organises monthly events to support families that have been bereaved by the death of a child.

Vanessa Riding, from our Echoes team said: “We know how important it is for parents and siblings to meet up and share their experiences in a relaxed environment away from the day-to-day, and it was lovely to see so many dads last week. The staff at Poor Boys are always amazing and our group of Echoes dads feel at ease there.”

Poor Boys have been supporting Momentum since 2021, regularly hosting groups of dads that are being supported through our bereavement service, Echoes.

The local independent restaurant, based in the heart of Kingston, was started by two brothers who were inspired by the city of New Orleans. Offering a variety of delicious meat and fish, from beef and chicken through to oysters and shrimp, there is something for everyone!
