Common issues we can support you with include; completing DLA, PIP, and Blue Badge forms, helping with financial concerns that have occurred since your child has been unwell, and advising you on housing issues you might be facing.

Our Social Worker, Hana, said: “When a child is unwell, the non-medical implications are vast. Many parents need to give up work or take unpaid leave to care for their sick child. This has a major impact on families where income drops but expenses rise, leading to increased financial strain. Combine this with filling in lengthy government forms, trying to sort out your child’s education and maybe having concerns about housing, things can soon feel all-consuming and that is where we can step in and help.”

Our social worker will talk with you to understand your personal situation and devise a plan to help you work through challenging times. The service can give you advice and information, offer practical support and help you access available grants and welfare benefits. As well as this, they can signpost you to other relevant services that can offer relief from all the challenges you may be facing while caring for your unwell child – our goal is to try to improve your situation.

If we can help, please do not delay in seeking support – you are not alone, and we can help you through this difficult time.
