Our respites breaks are for families supported by Momentum. They are an opportunity to have a few days away from the stress of difficult treatments and to enjoy time together somewhere that’s safe and not too far from home. We know that having a seriously ill child can often rule out a holiday for many families, so our cabins in the New Forest and West Sussex can be a good alternative.

The Lane family have just returned from a break at one of our lodges at Shorefield Country Park. Mum, Charlotte, said: “We had the most perfect time, and I have actually come home feeling relaxed. The children loved their break – we were so lucky with the weather. We spent the time mainly in the park at the pool but did venture out to a ford we used to visit with my dad. We lost my father two years ago, so this gave us the opportunity to visit a special place in our hearts and to remember their grandad. Forever thankful for all your efforts as a charity, you are really making such a positive difference to our experiences and helping us stay strong as a family unit when times are really tough.”

The Temple family also enjoyed a break at Shorefield Country Park. Mum, Victoria, said: “The place is just perfect, peaceful and has such a happy energy. We loved every second of our long weekend. As a family it’s so important to get these moments and we are so lucky that we have Momentum. Zara joined in with some of the activities, but the biggest hit was the outdoor pool- come rain or shine!”
