Andrew Winrow
- Clinical Advisory Board Member
After a 34-year career in hospital paediatric medicine in London and the South East, including 26 years as a Consultant Paediatrician at Kingston Hospital, Andrew retired from clinical practice in 2020. During his career at Kingston Hospital, Andrew also undertook a number of senior managerial roles, including Trust Medical Director, as well as being a senior examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, both in the UK and overseas. In his spare time, reflecting his long interest in historical matters, Andrew was awarded a Master’s degree and subsequently a PhD, both in history, and was recently elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
In retirement, Andrew is pursuing a second career as an independent historian while also volunteering as a guide for English Heritage. Having been involved in the inception and early development of Momentum Children’s Charity, Andrew has witnessed the profound difference Momentum, with its unique model of supporting children and their families, can make. Moreover, Andrew recognises the benefits that clinical teams accrue from a partnership with Momentum. Considering his longstanding association with Momentum, Andrew hopes that he will be able to contribute effectively to the Clinical Advisory Board and the wider work of the Charity.
